First Lady Clar Marie Weah, is the wife of the 24th President of the Republic of Liberia, H. E. George Manneh Weah, mother of three children ‘Martha, George Jr., and Timothy’, nurse, successful businesswoman, and humanitarian.
Mrs. Weah was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and the youngest of seven children. At ’13’ years old, she migrated with her family to the United States of America. Clar Marie Weah, the owner of several businesses including two successful restaurants in Queens, New York, has dedicated most of her life to humanitarian initiatives in the United States, Jamaica, and Liberia. Her dream has always been to be an advocate for children around the world, and her motto, “To bless as many children as God has blessed me.”
In 2018, the Liberian First Lady founded “Clar Hope Foundation”, a non-political initiative aimed at creating an equitable society in Liberia by restoring the hope of disadvantaged children, youth, and women through education, health, and other opportunities to enhance the lives of individuals often overlooked.
Her passion for soccer and love for children led her to Co-founded a youth soccer program in Queens, New York. Where she utilized her spare time volunteering as a coach from 2000 to 2016. Not forgetting to mention, from 2003 to 2016, Clar conducted humanitarian efforts that catered to less fortunate youth and children in Jamaica for various boys and girls’ homes.
Attending the “Women’s Symposium” in Morocco, March of 2018, Clar Weah was appointed ‘Ambassador and Champion for Women’s Football’ by the Confederation of African Football, CAF.
